Hello and Welcome to Home Sweet Homebodies! Thank you for visiting, and wanting to get to know us better! We'd love to get to know you too, so why not link up your "About Me" pages below so we can stop by and say "hi"?! But first, some introductions!
Meet Rochelle:

Welcome to Home Sweet Homebodies! I started this blog with my sister Marissa as a way to showcase some of my projects, motivate myself to try new projects, get organized, and hone my homemaking skills. I do not consider myself an expert on anything (although I feel most comfortable at the sewing machine) but I want to be! I love to make things. I love recycling. I love beautifying my home. I love crafting things that are useful or fun for my family. I love the way I feel when I see something I have worked on transform from from a heap of "junk" (as the case may be) to something wonderful, beautiful, and amazing! I also love it when those transformations don't cost a thing!

I am married to my best friend, BJ, and am the mother of two sweet, busy little boys. I work a few hours a week as a Registered Nurse, a few more hours a week crafting (or dreaming about crafting) but mostly I do the mom thing. I am still trying to figure it out, but I love being a mom and homemaker!
Honestly, as I mentioned, I decided to start a craft blog mostly to help me keep track of projects I had done and to help me meet goals I set for myself about becoming a better homemaker. But I also hope to provide a resource for other women like me who love creating things, and if I come up with a great idea, I want to share it so that other people can enjoy it too!
I would like to share one of my favorite quotes that explains a little bit more about why I am doing what I am doing:
"The desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul. No matter our talents, education, backgrounds, or abilities,we each have an inherent wish to create something that did not exist before. Everyone can create. You don't need money, position, or influence in order to create something of substance or beauty... You may think you don't have talents, but that is a false assumption, for we all have talents and gifts, every one of us. The bounds of creativity extend far beyond the limits of a canvas or a sheet of paper and do not require a brush, a pen, or the keys of a piano. Creation means bringing into existence something that did not exist before--colorful gardens, harmonious homes, family memories, flowing laughter...Don't let fear of failure discourage you. Don't let the voice of critics paralyze you--whether that voice comes from the outside or the inside." -Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Meet Marissa:

I recently graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Public Health, and am about to start my first public health job!
Health is one of my passions, and I love learning about how to be more healthy, and how to encourage others to be more healthy. I have my weaknesses (like dessert...) - but I find it empowering to have the tools and knowledge to be able to help my family, myself and others.

Richard is my wonderful, loving and devoted husband. We met in the summer of 2005, when I was about to be a senior in high school. He had just graduated, and was working and preparing for a mission. I dated him my senior year, until he went on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I wrote to him regularly during the two years he was gone, with the understanding that I was still going to date other guys, and if I was still available when he got back, then we'd see where things went. Obviously, things worked out really well when he got back, and we have been living in wedded bliss since August, 2008. I am grateful for him every day - for his kind encouragement, and great ideas. He has this great talent where he comes up with ideas regularly on how to make this blog better, and often gives me ideas for projects that I could do. He is an idea man, and I love it.
Like Rochelle said, we started this blog because we both have a love for creating things, and thought this would be a great way to document the things we make. I started getting back into the "crafting scene" when I realized it was time I got myself a hobby, after a few discussions with my loving husband about how he couldn't always be the one to entertain me when I have free time... ;) I had gone through three years of college feeling like I had no time for a hobby, so I didn't really have one (besides dating). So, after realizing that I could actually allow myself to do something personally fulfilling in my limited free time, I pondered long and hard, and realized that I've always loved to make things, whether it be jewelry, art, food, or learning how to make things for the first time, so I decided that crafts were going to be my new hobby. I totally lucked out too, because it just happens that Rochelle is pretty much a genius when it comes to being creative! We've had a lot of fun together, usually getting together once a week to work on our crafts, and brainstorming ideas for future creations.
